Position Title : Body Preparation Engineer

Reports to : Prod. Manager

Department : BODY PREPARATION (SEC)

Function : Production BPS

Responsible for the body preparation functions, which include raw materials storage, crushing, and raw materials inventory control, follow-up of laboratory advice on body composition for existing and new products. Maintain records on the consumption of materials, manpower, production and related activities. TO ensure that ball mill and spray drier complies with the safety, quality management and other relevant future requirement within the group.

1. To maintain availability of approved crushed materials, chemicals and other required materials for the production program given by the production manager (to highlight to production manager in case of any shortage).
2. To ensure availability of manpower as per the production requirement.
3. To plan for executing the production program and give instruction to shift foreman of hard material crushing plant, ball mill and spray dryer through shift foreman’s logbook.
4. To plan for the management of crushed raw materials, storage of crushed materials, slip tank and silos for the storage of slip and powder respectively.
5. To solve the process problem (if any) and control the deviations.
6. To give special instruction to the foreman while taking trials.
7. To coordinate and keep proper communication with related departments for smooth operation.
8. To monitor daily shift production and process records.
9. To prepare daily production report and forward to the production manager.
10. To prepare shift schedule for the foreman and the other employees in the section.
11. To plan and execute preventive maintenance in coordination with the Maintenance Department.
12. To plan for the critical production related spare parts, raised requisitions, and send to the Purchase Department.
13. To follow up with the Purchase and Maintenance Department for the procurement of spare parts for the maintenance of the machinery.
14. To monitor manpower utilization.
15. To monitor / check excess consumption of raw materials and chemical, and report to the production manager.
16. To highlight any quality problem in the supply of raw materials to the production manager.
17. To monitor the functional status and breakdowns on machinery and equipment.
18. To take special initiation and follow up on pending jobs / requirements.
19. To ensure availability of powder for the daily production requirements.
20. To highlight any abnormality in the section to the production manager to take corrective action for smooth operation.
21. To plan vacation schedule for all employees in the section and report to the production manager.
22. To maintain files for all transactions.
23. To develop leadership and teamwork in the staff.
24. Take initiative in the plant operations and develop creative conception in the staff.
25. To ensure safety procedures are followed and implemented in the section.
26. To control the sanction, leave, overtime, etc., and send it to the production manager.
27. Ensure prevention of pollution and accident.
28. Ensure that all requirements of quality requirements are fulfilled.
29. Additional responsibilities may be added from time to time depending on organizational requirement.
30. Ensure proper housekeeping in the department.
31. Attend any other requirement which may rise during future expansion / implementation

Minimum Qualifications : Dip/Degree in ceramics or related fields

Minimum Experience : 7-10yrs

Position Title : Body preparation Foreman

Reports to : INCHARGE: BPS

Department : BODY PREPARATION (SEC)

Function : Production BPS

Shall effectively contribute in the operation of the continuous ball mill and spray drier in the production of body slip and ceramic powder. See to it that standard operating procedures have been carried out and specific objectives and targets are accomplished in a safe and clean working atmosphere.

1. Check the batching recipes for ball mill loading and spray drier requirement as per production program.
2. To check the available manpower, allocate the jobs and properly utilize them.
3. To note the daily production program instructed in the supervisors log book and to plan for the shift activities.
4. To maintain, update the logbook / records and to handover the shift activities properly to the reliever.
5. To supervise all the operations of operators, correct any deviations observed.
6. To maintain minimum stock of spares and additives and highlight to the supervisor, if any shortage is observed, in shifts.
7. Ensure that the parameters of raw material, slip and spray dried powder are maintained and recorded.
8. To prepare reports such as attendance, vacation, accident, absenteeism, overtime, and forward them to the supervisor.
9. To highlight any abnormality to the supervisor for smoother operation of the section.
10. To coordinate and keep proper communication with all related department for smooth operation.
11. Ensure prevention of pollution and accident in the area.
12. Maintain cleanliness in the work area at all times.
13. Perform other related duties that may be assigned by his immediate superior.
14. To attend any other requirement / documentation which may rise during future operations / expansion?

Position Title : Ball Mill Operator.

Reports to : BPS Foreman

Department : BODY PREPARATION (SEC)

Function : Production BPS

Grade : -

Division : Ceramics Factory

Responsible for the effective and efficient loading of raw materials in the material bins. Ensures that the loading procedure and requirements are carried out and specific goals and objectives have been obtained.

1. Ensure the availability of raw materials in the bins/ according to prod. program.
2. Ensure that the machines are intact and ready for production.
3. In-charge for the accurate preparation and proportioning of raw materials to be loaded in the ball mill.
4. Follow the production programs as per Section Foreman / Team leader.
5. Maintain all the parameters (instance slip) as per specifications periodically and make entry in records. If any deviation noticed, inform to Section Foreman / Team leader for further actions.
6. Maintain the operator shift log books and records.
7. Ensure for proper relieving with the next shift operator to avoid production deviations.
8. Provide feedback to the BPS Foreman and Team leader for any discrepancies and concerns within the department.
9. Responsible for the maintenance of the machines.
10. Ensure pollution and accident prevention.
11. Initiate correction, corrective and preventive action for product or process non conformities.
12. Follow company rules and regulations.
13. Maintains cleanliness in work area at all times.
14. May assigned once in a while to perform other duties as ordered by his superior.

To operate the spray drier and related machineries.

6. Attend and follow any future requirements within the group.
